3 Ways To Maintain Your Facelift Results Long-Term

Now that you have decided to get a facelift, it's time to think about how you'll maintain your results in the months and even years afterward. Here are a few ways to do just that:

Drink Plenty of Water

An excellent way to maintain your facelift results as time goes on is to ensure that you drink plenty of water every day. Staying hydrated will help keep your skin soft, supple, and full of moisture so it doesn't dry up and wrinkle unnecessarily. Aim to consume about 64 ounces of fresh water on a daily basis to keep your skin moist and young looking.

The hydration will help keep you feeling healthy overall, so you're more likely to exercise eat right, which are both also important aspects of maintaining a lifestyle that promotes anti-aging. If you don't enjoy drinking plain water or find that it's too tough to get in your recommended daily allowance, try one or more of the following tips:

  • Enjoy a smoothie for breakfast filled with fruit, protein powder, and lots of water and ice.

  • Add lemon and orange slices to your glasses of water for a sweet flavor.

  • Dilute your juice or soda with water.

  • Enjoy meals with a high water content throughout the day, such as soups and salads.

You should also commit to drinking a cup of water every morning as soon as you wake up and each night before you go to sleep.

Change Your Lifestyle Habits

Unfortunately, some lifestyle habits like smoking and drinking coffee can contribute to wrinkled skin and make you look older than you want to. If you continue smoking and consuming on caffeine on a regular basis after facelift surgery, chances are that your results will fade quicker than they should and you'll have to go back in for another treatment before you expect.

Make a point to quit smoking, even before your facelift surgery if possible. Take up a new hobby or change your diet and exercise regimen to keep your mind off of it for the first couple of weeks. And limit your caffeine to just one or two servings a day if possible. Taking a quick walk, enjoying a piece of fruit are a couple of natural ways to energize yourself when you need a boost.

Invest in Ongoing Treatments

It's also a good idea to invest in minor cosmetic procedures to maintain the results of your facelift and even improve your looks as time goes on. Basic procedures can enhance your facelift results and keep you looking young even as you get older. Consider the these options:

  • A Brow Lift

  • Cheek Augmentation

  • Eyelid Surgery

  • Rhinoplasty

You can also invest in facial implants to create new dimension and contour that may have been lost in previous years. Contact a clinic, like Panthea Clinics, for more help.
